High protein cherry smoothie | Glutenfreewhisk
Smoothies are my new favorite, and I am making them in this thick spoon able consistency, and it feels like I am eating some dessert in the morning. Even if you eat these smoothies for dessert occasionally then also it is so satisfying and so addictive that you will definitely ask for more. This smoothie recipe is extra special as I am using fresh cherry fruit, my favorite ingredient coconut two ways and homemade protein powder. No fancy protein boxes or mixes are required just humble roasted black chana with some roasted makhana and flax seeds and your homemade version of healthy and safe protein powder is ready. You can even add chia seeds, pumpkin seeds, walnuts in this to make it richer in protein content.
With everyone in their protein era now with a constant need of adding protein in every meal, this high protein cherry smoothie recipe really becomes something special. With the added tags of being vegan and a gluten-free recipe as well. Smoothies actually are a quick breakfast fix. They are versatile, easy to make and you can play with the ingredients. Early I have shared an enriching blueberry mango smoothie recipe with coconut, and it was an absolute banger. And yes, I am actually a coconut lover because in this cherry smoothie recipe also, I have used both coconut milk and desiccated coconut.
I am blending my protein powder and cherry cocoa powder mix separately and then combining it together because in this way you get a nice smooth blend. You can combine everything together and blend but if it is not a food processor or a very high-speed blender then there are chances that your roasted black chana will not blend or combine well and you will get bits in your mouth.
I am choosing to serve my high protein smoothie in a glass with whole cherries and chopped almonds on top but if you like a thick consistency of smoothie like I do then you can serve them in a bowl also with your favorite smoothie bowl toppings like more nuts, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds or fresh fruits like mango, apples, cherries and more. Either way this breakfast smoothie recipe is addictive. It is both gluten-free and a vegan smoothie recipe and I can have this on repeat for breakfast and even as a healthy dessert option. I have shared an overnight oat smoothie bowl recipe in the past which was overnight oats chocolate chia smoothie bowl and for smoothie bowl topping ideas you can refer to this overnight oats' recipe also.
In this protein era do just run after only protein. A complete balanced diet is more important than just focusing on eating expensive protein pack especially if you don't have optimal output from your body. Be it workout or a basic active lifestyle. Don't just eat egg white in the name of protein and when it comes to working out you barely can raise your arms up. Be sensible and focus on overall body nutrient according to your body. Muscle growth for biceps and triceps should not be your focus. Good mobility, strength and stamina should be your goal. Be wise and eat wisely.
I am using some fresh homemade coconut milk that I have made at home, but you can even use Urban platter unsweetened coconut milk, it is thick and good.
