One of the best smoothies that can be eaten as energy drink as well. To be honest this recipe came out of chance. Basically, I was trying to make chocolate balls with the same ingredients but due to addition of water initially I couldn't shape them well. So, I converted the same recipe into a smoothie bowl, and this was one of the best things that I did. Because this high protein smoothie bowl is something that I absolutely loved having.
You can have this after your workouts as this is rich in protein with the goodness of roasted makhana, roasted black chana and pumpkin seeds. What a great recipe to indulge in. Also, since dates are in abundance in almost every home because they are in season, the natural sweetness from them makes this recipe sugar free. The only sweetness it has is from the natural sweetness of the dates. Absolutely delightful.

INGREDIENTS -
Handful of roasted foxnut or makhana
1 tbsp Roasted black chana or chickpea
8 pitted dates soaked in warm water
1 tbsp pumpkin seeds
1 tsp cinnamon powder
2 tsp cocoa powder
1 tbsp desiccated coconut
100 ml milk of choice
Around 50 ml warm water
Chopped grapes & strawberries for garnish
White sesame seeds for garnish
I love Farmley makhana as there are so many flavors and variations but for this recipe you have a use the plain salted one and what better than the Himalayan salt roasted makhana
METHOD -
1. In a blender jar add pitted soaked dates, roasted makhana, pumpkin seeds, roasted chana, cinnamon powder and a little warm water to blend roughly.
2. Once blended roughly, add cocoa powder, desiccated coconut with milk or water as required and blend again.
3. You can adjust the consistency and add milk and water as required. I like my smoothie to be on the thicker side, so I have kept the consistency accordingly.
4. Pour in the serving dish and decorate with chopped grapes and strawberries arranging them as you like. Top with some white sesame seeds and indulge.
NOTE - You can skip milk altogether and use only warm water. Or you can skip water and only add milk of your choice. Either way this recipe is indulgent and packed with protein and all the goodness your body deserves.
