Non slimy oat milk at home | Glutenfreewhisk

Making oat milk at home is so easy. I have heard a lot of people say that their milk turned slimy because the oats are naturally really slimy ingredient when blended with water. But Today I am sharing with you a super quick recipe to make oat milk at home that is totally non-slimy and the best oat milk at home with no preservative. Just a few ingredients and it is good to go.

I have used oats milk in my creamy mushroom onion soup and for my regular morning cup of coffee and it is good. For vegan or lactose intolerant people plant-based milks like soy, oats, almond are pure gem and a life saver. They can enjoy their coffee, puddings, ice creams now that will not hurt their stomach and satisfy their craving.

My recipe for oat milk turned out to be really rich and thick and using it in soup was worth it as I love my soup to be thick and not runny. You have to make your own oat milk and not buy it from the market to save yourself from the expensive shopping list and protect yourself from all the additives or fake products. I have made a thick oat milk for myself but generally it is way thinner, and you will find other recipes on internet with 1 cup oats and 3-4 cups of water. But I think, it varies from individual to individual. Many recipes also soak the oats overnight in water, but this way leads to slimy oat milk and our purpose here is to get the best non slimy oat milk in minutes.

The residual oats should never be discarded after you extract your milk as they are fibrous and makes great sweet for your sweet craving. My oats and dates baked energy balls, and my overnight oats chocolate chia smoothie are the best easy recipes to make the most of the ingredient.

People love to add flavors to their oat milk like vanilla, cinnamon, some honey for sweetness, and I did it too. I added a little honey, but I think even without honey or flavor it will be a good milk.

INGREDIENTS -

1 cup rolled oats, gluten free

1 tsp honey

2 cup water

I am using gluten free rolled oats from yogabar from last 4 years now and these are the best gluten-free, non-GMO, high fiber oats. Give these a try.

METHOD -

1. Blend the ingredients in a blender for 10-20 seconds and pulsing it a few times. Repeat this process two times and strain the milk through a sieve with a muslin cloth.

2. Pour it in glass bottle and refrigerate it.

NOTE - Do not blend it continuously for a long duration as this will make the milk slimy and you do not want that. Also, I am straining it both through sieve and muslin cloth as this helps even the small oats particle to not pass in the milk. You will get a smooth, non-slimy oat milk at home. Indulge!!

The glass bottles that I have used are CROCO jar transparent glass bottles. These can be used for juices, milk or any other beverage. The best part is they are leaking proof.
