Crunchy Breakfast Date Bars

This new amazing recipe is another version of my Nutty Crunchy Bars which is equally yummy, healthy and full of energy to start your day with. As it is said breakfast is the most important meal of the day so why not start it in a healthier note, so here is this seeds filled crunchy healthy bar that's a must have for all of you.

For all those who love to eat sweet this is a perfect recipe as it has sweet in the form of dates which are healthy, sweet and too delicious to not have and so starting my day with something, that is so tempting and at the same time healthy that I would definitely want to indulge and grab it everyday.

I am using my favorite dates "Medjool" which I can't seem to resist as they are so delicious so fleshy, chewy and amazingly amazing in taste that they proved to be best for this recipe. It's an amazing recipe with no baking no fuss, simple procedure with all your favorite seeds, any seed of your choice. So go for it, make your own bars.

INGREDIENTS:

10 Dates, washed and deseeded
Half a spoon Cinnamon
Water as required
4-5 tbsp Oats
2 tbsp Cornflakes
2 tbsp Flax seeds
1 tbsp Pumpkin seeds
1 tbsp Chia seeds
1 tbsp Melon seeds
1 tbsp roasted Sesame seeds

METHOD:

  • Take a thick bottom pan add the dates, roughly chop them or tear them using hands, Then add cinnamon and water to just soak the dates so that they become mashed as the water boils and make sure you do not make it too slurry.
  • In another big bowl add rest of the above ingredients, toss them using your hands and once the dates are mashed and the water has evaporated making it a thick paste, add it to the seed mix and mix it really well combining everything.
  • Transfer this in a greased pan, flatten it evenly making it half a centimeter thick. Allow it to set in the refrigerator for few hours, then slice it in bars, keeping the size according to your liking.
Note: Be careful while transferring the hot date paste over the dry ingredients and mixing it as you may want to use hands to bring it all together.
You can choose to add organic dried rose petals to garnish, I haven't used anything as I like to keep it simple.
